A $25 late fee will be assessed to payments received through February 14th. Payments received after that date will be subject to the October 2020 exam. Please note that all applicants must have an approved application with the Board to sit for the exam. Renewal Portal for Surveyors Open Now Professional Surveyor licenses with last names beginning with letters A-L must renew their professional license by the expiration date of 03/31/2020 to stay in good standing. Official renewal notices will be mailed from the Board office by Friday, 02/07/2020 and contain information for online renewal. Please contact the Board office if you do not receive your renewal notice by 02/28/2020. A paper renewal form is available for those not wanting to renew online. New Regulation Now In Effect The Kansas State Board of Technical Professions recently added K.A.R. 66-15-1 Fees effective January 17, 2020. Please note that a Return to Practice Application will now require a non-refundable application fee of $20. Late or untimely renewals will incur a late fee of $20. Please click on the regulation above for more information. Surveyor Program Available January 2020 Kansas City Kansas Community College will begin offering a surveyor program in January 2020! Please visit www.kckcc.edu to create an account and submit a FREE admissions application . Select TEC and non-degree seeking to ensure the application is directed to the TEC Campus. The next step is to take the FREE placement exam. The exam is available Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 2:00pm. Important: Unlawful Professional Designation Reminder The Kansas State Board of Technical Professions would like to remind everyone that it is not appropriate to utilize a professional designation until licensure. K.S.A. 74-7029 provides that it is unlawful "through the use of some other title to imply a person is an architect, landscape architect, professional engineer, professional geologist or professional surveyor, or that such person is licensed to practice a technical profession." The statue goes on to further state that it is unlawful to "practice or offer to practice or hold one's self out as entitled to practice any technical profession unless the person is licensed as provided in K.S.A. 74-7001 et seq., and amendments thereto ... " Please click here to view the statue in its entirety. October 2019 PE Exam Letters Released All letters from the October 2019 administration have been released. Letters were mailed from the KSBTP office to the preferred mailing address on file 12/17/2019. Approval letters contain the necessary information needed to obtain and submit the required seal. PE Exam Scores Released by NCEES PE applicants of the October 2019 exam administration may now view their scores in their NCEES records. Applicants who passed the exam do not need to do anything further to obtain licensure; the Board office is processing the scores and will send licensure approval letters to the applicant's preferred address on file. The approval letter has all of the information necessary to obtain and submit your seal. Please do not submit verification requests through your NCEES portal until after the letters have been received. Business Entity Renewal Period Opens 11/01/2019 - 12/31/2019 Business Entities with names beginning with letters M-Z may renew their license via our paper renewal form or our online renewal portal beginning November 1, 2019. Official renewal notices will be mailed by 11/11/2019 to the preferred mailing address on file and contain the necessary renewal code and registration ID new users must have to create a login to renew online. Architect applicants are no longer required to provide an NCARB record for licensure effective June 14, 2019. Please click on each individual regulation above for more information.
